Momoyama Like List Two famed Portland sushi chefs, Hiroshi Ikegaya of Mirakutei Like ListĪnd Heemoon “Scott” Chae of Yama Sushi Like List The hearty offerings include the "John Roast Beef" (rotisserie roasted beef, melted cheddar, fried shallots, shredded lettuce, red onion, horseradish mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, and celery salt on rye) and the "Laurel" (herb cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, red bell pepper, purple cabbage, shredded lettuce, and oil and vinegar dressing on honey wheat). Lottie & Zula's Like List This hip deli serving Southern New England style grinders, subs, sliced bread sandwiches, soup, salads, and "tasty beverages" opened in early October for takeout and delivery. Southeast Lokanta Like List Formerly a pop-up, this rustic Turkish restaurant (named for the word for "restaurant" in Turkish) from chef Umut Matkap opened in early October, serving seasonally inspired mezze-style dishes, pide (Turkish flatbread), Turkish wine and beer, and raki, a grape and anise brandy. The menu includes nigiri balls and wafu pasta (an umami-heavy Japanese take on pasta). Northeast Hamono Sushi This new Japanese restaurant serving poke, hibachi, and sushi opened in southeast Portland on October 5. The restaurant, which is open for delivery and takeout, also features a back patio for outdoor dining and a bottle shop with a curated selection of discounted wine. Ingredients include sun-dried Mission figs, buffalo mozzarella, wild mushrooms, anchovies, and prosciutto. The dough at Biga is cold-fermented for three days, similar to the process for ciabatta. Beaverton Biga Like List Two months ago, Pizzicato owners Marc and Tracy Frankel opened this "Neo-Neapolitan" artisan pizzeria, named for a type of pre-fermentation used in Italian baking, in the former space of Autentica Like List The menu features classic izakaya bites such as karaage chicken and dumplings, in addition to nigiri and sashimi, sushi rolls, ramen, tsukemen, robata (Japanese grilled food similar to barbecue), and chirashi. The restaurant, which is currently open for takeout and delivery through DoorDash as well as dine-in by reservation, features an open kitchen layout so guests can peek at the process behind the scenes. NEW OPENINGS AND RETURNSĪfuri Izakaya Like List According to a press release, this buzz-worthy Tokyo-based restaurant specializing in yuzu ramen, which opened its first location outside of Japan in southeast Portland in 2016, celebrated the grand opening of its outpost in Old Town Beaverton on Thursday, October 22.
